I bought several soy candles at a street festival. They are wonderful to use as a hand treatment…i have become addicted…it’s like a spa in a jar. I would like to make some to give as gifts this year. Does it matter what kind of soy wax you buy?

I burn candles all the time. I’m just wondering if anybody knows where the wax goes after it gets consumed by the flame. Does it just evaporate into the air? Are my lungs and walls now coated with wax that I can’t see or what??

Im trying to learn how to make container candles and im having some trouble. the wax I bought has a melting point of 135. I tried to make a candle of pure wax and it looked terrible. like it was made of frost. so I read that you can mix vegetable shortening with wax 50/50. i tried that but it still dosent seem right. does anyone have any tips or recipes? is it really true that you are supposed to mix vegetable shortening with the wax? thank you.

I would like to re-use some old wax from candles that burnt out and make few new candles out of it, instead of tossing it into the trash.
Does anyone know how can I make a candle at home? Can I re-use this old candle wax? What do I need to make a candle? What are the steps? I am a complete beginner in this, so any advice from an experienced candle maker will be appreciated.
