I have a beautiful glass hurricane as the centerpiece on our dining table. I like to switch out its contents and colors based on the season (sea glass and a light colored candle for summer, silver balls during the holidays, artificial apples, pears, or lemons in the spring) What else could I use that would be different?
I put all kinds of stuff in mine. Buttons, different colored sand (craft stores sell it) in levels, shells, spools of thread, little balls of yarn, ribbon roses, yo-yos, hanks of pearl necklaces, feathers, dried flowers, chili peppers, eucaliptus leaves (we have a tree) mini pumpkins & gourds, fake Easter eggs on colored Easter grass, Hershey’s kisses, heart shaped chololates, pine boughs, pine cones, reeds in scented oil, that is just what I’ve had in it recently.
You could use flowers, potpourri, candles, even candy.
You could use chunky potpourri, any scent you like, it smells good and looks great! check out http://www.homeinteriors.com/melissa they have great ideas, and you can shop on line 24-7!
