How can an entire candle burn without a gaping hole being left in the middle and hard wax left on the sides?

It's such a waste when the wick comes to an end at the bottom and then you have all the unused wax around the sides of the candle holder!! ...

freeze the candle before you initially light it and check to make sure the wick is about 1 inch in length…this should help.

The only candle that burns that way is a taper. Leftovers are not so bad though. Save them up and when you get enough, make a new candle. Personally, I like sticking a wick in the middle of a one quart milk carton, filling it with semi-cracked ice and pouring hot wax in it. When you’re melting the wax, add hardener, scent and coloring to it. Makes for an interesting candle. If you melt and pour the leftovers one at a time you get a colored, layered candle.Experiment . It’s fun.

The electric candle plates are great! Melts the entire candle to dispense the scent. Candle will eventually evaporate with use, nothing wasted!

If you use 100% Soy candles instead of paraffin ones, the entire candle will burn without tunneling or waste! Soy candles burn cooler and slower & without soot or toxins and are much healthier to breathe too.
