ice, freeze it & peel it off. that iron trick might have screwed things up.

goof off and a really big clean towel that you don’t care about

Try some kind of stain removers you can buy at Wal-Mart, Im sure there have to be some made for wax…if there are still pieces of wax on it, try freezing it with an icecube in a plastic bag and chip it off.

Just a stab in the dark, but if peanut butter is good for getting gum out of hair……..?

if it is a beige rug, get a carpet shampoo machine or one of the handheld jobs will work fine……..

take and mix a solution of half colrox color safe bleach and water.
put this in the solution tank on the machine.

then mix up a solution of oxy clean and water, spray this on the stain and let it set for about five min.

then use the shampoo machine and spray your clorox/water solution on it and then just let the machine do the work

    good luck

Here is what I did one time…. I put down on the spot(candle wax spot) a soft absorbant CLOTH.. then I put my iron on it and the purpose was to let the heat from the iron melt the wax and be absorbed by the soft cotton rag

go to your local ski/snowboard shop and ask for base cleaner, then apply it to the spot let it work for a min or 2,try to pull it out with a comb. after it is up clean the area with a non pumice hand cleaner to remove the oil in the base cleaner and plot with a wet towel. i have done this and it worked with white wax. good luck

the red dye will not come out. red actually dyes the fibre of the carpet. if it is not a large area and not a looped pile you might be able to snip out the stained fibre. you might want to get a professional in to try to get it out.
i think uncle billy is right

Lay down a towel over the stain use a very hot iron. Repeat as much as needed. Use deslove it stain remover and steam cleaner if any is left after iron.
