First go to Michael’s or similar Craft shop. Talk to them, but DO NOT BUY anything except a book on basic candle making.
Then go home and see what you have around the house that you can use to melt wax (old double boiler) and use as molds (clean cans or milk cartons for ice candles) there will be a list of equipment in the book that they will say you will need. To start with substitute similar things that you have or can pick up at thrift shops cheap.
I suggest this because candle making can be expensive, if you decide after making a few that you don’t want to continue you won’t be out a lot of money (there is no market of used candle making equipment and you will want to spend you money on wax, wicks, colors and scents.
It took me several false starts before I got into it and I found a group of people through the craft shop and we developed a co-op & had a workshop. There were about 25 of us and it worked well for about 5 years.

Pretty much all of the supplies for making candles can usually be found at AC Moore or Joann’s, both of which have online stores where you can order such things.

Also, other essential oils can be bought at The Body Shop. (They have amazing scents)

Yes, creating candles is a lot of fun aside from earning from it, it also gives you a sense of accomplishment by doing it by your hand and not just buy it.

Creating beautiful candles out of soy or beeswax might be of interest to you.

Here are a couple of links that would point you to the right direction of creating candles out of those two recipes and the equipments needed to make it:

Or, for general candle making guide and how to earn from it, I believe it won´t hurt to visit this site:
