I saved the wax runoff and drippings from candles after they have been burned — and I melted them, poured them in candle molds with a wick and when they dried, I used them as candles.. BUT every time I burn these candles they give off black black smoke– why???

Read up on candle making. Seriously. Make sure you have dipped you wick in melted wax first before you make your new candles so they absorb the wax. You may need more sterlite to harden the new wax, and they give off less smoke that way, or the wick your using may be the wrong type. Some are for outdoors and do give off more smoke. Size of wick matters, bigger wicks give off more smoke, little wicks can drown in melted wax.

Paraffin is paraffin. So it must be the die"s or other chemicals in the wax. Causing the problem. Not mixing right. Try using all the same color candles.
