I am getting married in October and was thinking about doing votive candles as table decorations the colors are hot pink and lime green. It is hard to find these colors in candles at a reasonable price. My question is can I fill a clear votive holder with wax cubes or chunks and just add a wick down the center? Will it burn like a candle?

You could get white votives and overdip them with melted crayons. Also white floating candles in brightly colored water might be and idea. I know they have kits at Joann’s, Hobby Lobby and Micheals.

It will probably burn for a while, but if there are too many air gaps in it, the wick will burn right down to the bottom before you know it. My suggestion is to make your own candles using crayons as colorants. You may be able to even find candle specific colorants at a hobby store like MJ Designs, or Micheals, or Hobby Lobby.

    Good luck,

    Stevo.

Transforming wax into an interesting art innovation is easy with this unique line of unscented candle wax beads. Create a candle out of a favorite vase, container or even a fruit or vegetable. The beads can be poured into nearly any type of vessel a wick is then inserted and will burn from eight to 10 hours.
