How do I have this up on my wall?
So I bought this:http://www.amazon.com/Wrought-Iron-Swirl-5-Candle-Sconce/dp/B00023AX34/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1219191570&sr...

But it didn’t come with hardware or nails or anything. So I need help. How do I hang it up without too badly damaging the wall while still keeping it secure? It’s incredibly heavy wrought iron, and I just want to make sure it actually stays in the wall and doesn’t come ripping out, with half the wall with it. Thanks!
Most of the above suggestions are right on the money, but just to add: if you have an older house with plaster-and-lath walls instead of drywall, it’s best to find a stud for at least some of the screws. For the others use the metal concrete anchors and not plastic anchors. (But to be honest, for something that heavy I’d be a bit wary of attaching it to a plaster wall with any kind of anchor.)
ROFL at "get some guy to do it". Yeah, because women are too incompetent to use a drill or a screwdriver. Welcome to 1934!
Either get a stud finder or get toggle bolts.
go to h.depot, lowes or walmart…ask a sles associate where to find drywall anchors, if your wall is drywall, if its block get concrete anchors…anyway
when u find thm go home and try to find a stud in the wall, with a stud finder or by simply pounding on the wall, you can tell by the difference in sound
with a drill, drill a smal hola and insert the anchor (small plastic sleeve you got at h.depot..etc) and the screw your thing against the wall
nice wall piece!
looks like the two small diamond shapes would be a perfect place to conseal a nail driven at an angle into a stud in the wall.
get some guy to put screws into the wall with enough sticking out to let it sit on. make sure the scres are in a woden stud– 3 should do it.
If it is very heavy it should be fastened directly to the studs and not by using drywall anchors. Studfinders can be found for under $20. Take a picture of it with you to a hardware store and an employee can tell you what type of fastener to use.
