I have some sconces that I used to burn a candle in and now the waxy residue and the remainder of the wick on the inside of the glass won’t come out. Any suggestions? I would like to have them look good again. Thanks.
All the wax is out, but there is the residue left. I will try both the freezer trick as well as the microwave trick and see what works best. My best answer will be awarded to the one that gives me a solution that works.
Put boiling water in it.
and soak it with dishsoap or all purpose cleaner.
Good Luck to you ! :]
I put mine in the freezer for a few hours and then just pop the wax out with a knife…Works like a charm
I second that!
Be careful!
if you put the glass in the microwave it might break , just put some warm water and some dish soap inside use a rag wrapped around a wooden spoon and run it all around the interior of the candle holder.
mico wave them for one min the wax will melt
I have put sconces in the dishwasher (if you think that will be safe). That will take care of it.
Or you can fill it with really hot water and then wipe them out.
