I like the look of wax sealed letters. But could I use a regular ink stamp and scented candle melted wax for letter sealing? ...

    Yes, regular ink stamps work well with wax. You can even make your own stamps out of oven bake clay.

    Scented candle wax might have too much oil in it… maybe crayons melted?

    Yes, you could use an ordinary ink stamp….but the relief in a wax sealing stamp is a lot deeper and will leave more detail…
    as far as the scented candle wax…no, the wax wont bond to the paper properly… :-(

    The point about depth of images for regular "ink stamps" is right, but nowadays there are also deeply-cut rubber stamps being made for purposes other than ink too so you might find some of those.

    You can also make your own stamps from various materials (white erasers, polymer clay, onlays of clay or other materials onto bases of various kinds, etc) and then you can make the stamps as deep as you want.

    You can also have "regular" rubber stamps made fairly cheaply and with any image(s) you want by ordering them online from a place like ReadyStamps. In addition to the "sheet of stamps" (based on your drawings, photocopies, etc) you’ll get back to cut apart and use, if you ask, ReadyStamps will also send back to you the matrix and plate for those images which could also act like stamps (though not sure how well those would release from wax).
