Can I use candle wax on the string for my compound bow?

Can candle wax be used on the string or should I just go out and buy proper wax for it? ...

    You can use any kind of wax you want, as long as you’re ok with the scent etc. You can use a pork chop if you want. Wax is simply to lube the string and slow the fraying. There is no such thing as "proper wax"….that’s more junk the amateurs get sold on and pass on like it’s gospel.

    use bees wax. When i was a kid i would put a tiny piece of masking tape where i put the arrow on the string

    Buy the proper stuff; most candles have scent, which you surely want to avoid.

    no, its not made of the right compound. get the right stuff its not that expensive and it’ll help your bow out in the long run.
