I recently had new vinyl installed…& unfortunately I am very clumsy & dropped a candle on the floor. Now I don’t know how to get up all the wax without scratching up the floor. Any tips??
1. Soften the wax with a hair dryer. Remove the wax with a paper towel.
2. If a color stain remains, blot gently with mineral spirits, acetone (nail polish remover) or denatured alcohol. When color stain is gone, clean area well with a soft cloth and warm water.
3. If gloss is gone from the treated spot on a vinyl floor, allow spot to dry. Then spot apply a floor wax (such as Brite) to restore shine.
just wait till the wax is completely hardened and if you want to do that faster use an ice cube and they peel it off slowly…and then the leftover residue can be removed with whatever cooking oil you have at home (like olive, or vegetable~NOT HOT though)
At Home Depot paint dept, they have a variety of things to help you remove candle wax from a vinyl floor. Good luck.

I am a demonstrator for Gold Canyon candles and we have a wax remover that is truly amazing. It works on a large variety of surfaces. If you’d like to give it a try just let me know. The best part is we are giving 25% off through the 20th (so you would have to order by tomorrow to get the discount). HTH, Michelle
Unfortunately, the wax usually dyes the surface, and in this case it’s impossible to remove from my experience. You may try heating it up with steam from an iron and using a papertowel to absorb as much as you can, but no cleaner will remove the stain. I’ve tried a lot of products including bleach in the past and done a lot of research oniline to no avail. Most likely, the vinyl in that area needs to be replaced.
