How do i prevent crystals forming in candle wax?

I have been trying to melt down a store bought candle and pour the wax into a glass. However, when ever I try this, unwanted crystals form in the wax....



I have been trying to melt down a store bought candle and pour the wax into a glass. However, when ever I try this, unwanted crystals form in the wax. Does anyone know how I would prevent these forming. Thanks.

    If you’re pouring the wax, those "crystals" are probably forming because of uneven cooling. The wax cools and starts to solidify as you pour it, so it’s not going to be smooth. To avoid this, you would have to keep the wax heated at a higher temperature and make certain it doesn’t cool until it’s settled in the glass you’re pouring it into. This may be very difficult or impossible if you’re using consumer-grade materials in your house.

    The only other possible solution I can think of would be to shave the wax up into very small slivers, fill the glass with those pieces, and then heat the whole thing until the wax all melts then let it cool. That *might* work, but that’s a lot of work just to get wax from container A to container B without any uneven lumps in it.
