Put hot (not too hot) water in a plastic sandwich bag with a ziploc top, or any other bag that won’t have a hole in it. Just put that bag on the top of the puppy’s head and the wax will slowly melt off. This won’t hurt the puppy, as long as you can touch the bag and it doesn’t feel too hot, its OK. If its just warm, it won’t be enough to soften the wax from your puppy’s fur. The wax will be like play-doh and come off easy when you pull it.

better just cut the hair off. Otherwise, you kind of have to scrape it off, like between your fingernails. Her fur will grow back.

stick some ice on it till it gets nice and hard, then you should be able to break it up with your nails….if she’s got long hair and its really in there, you may need to cut it out or just wait till it grows out. Just be glad she didn’t set the house on fire…..

it prbebly didnt hurt her and wouldnt do no harm but if you leave it on you would have trouble brushing. i think the best you can do IS to cut it off. at the end of the day it will grow back.

if you cut – don’t cut it across – put your scissors blade against her head & cut forward through it.

    Here are the steps:
    - get a bowl of ice
-lay a towel down on your floor
-get your dog to lay down on the towel with you
-talk to him/her to calm it down
-gently rub one cube on the effected area until it freezes
-then take a wide letter opener (NOT A KNIFE)and work it out of her fur
-immediately take the wax and put it in a plastic bag, and put it in the bottom of a trash can (your dog will try to find it)
-then, tell your dog its OK, and praise it
-check the area for burns just in case, if there are any take it to the vet
if this doesn’t work repeat the same steps but use peanut butter instead of ice, both are proven to work.
    HOPE THIS HELPS!

Pretty sure a puppy won’t sit still while you put ice on it.

You can try nail polish remover. Just make sure it’s in a place where she can’t lick it. And don’t leave it on because it will burn her skin. Try just wiping the wax with a cotton ball soaked in the nail polish remover. Then rinse the area with water.

I would try warm water and a comb.

Would it be possible where the wax landed on her head that you could apply ice without much discomfort to the dog ? Ice will harden the wax and can then be easier to remove. Otherwise time will solve it as old fur falls off and new fur grows in.
