try pouring boiling water on it

You could try and peel it off. Or place a cheese cloth on top of it with a hot iron.

you can freeze some water in a plastic bag, and place it on the wax….wax shrinks when it gets really cold.

orrrr you can try Goo Gone. it works on that sticky stuff left behind when you remove a label from a container.

    or live with it.

Use non-stick baking paper. iron over the top and the wax will melt back onto the paper.

If possible heat it up so that it is liquid again (use a lighter or a hot hair dryer or if safe enough, a butane torch ) and quickly scrub with very hot soapy water. Another way is to use a cotton rag folded in 2 or 4 and put a hot iron on it then scrub.

I would try taking a lighter and melting it again. Then take a paint scraper and scrape it up.
