  2. lilmissnippy says:

    try using ice

  3. §¤ŅG.¥ says:

heat the carpet up and wipe away the melted wax. i suggest get a really hot towel and leave oit on the wax.

  4. tearsofthemoon00 says:

I have heard you use a thin piece of fabric like a hand towel maybe and then use a iron on medium and iron over until the wax comes off.

  5. jim says:

use ice get it really cold it will chip right up . use a wet dry vac to vac up the ice and the wax. been there done that one it works

  6. carpetrug01 says:

get a power vacume, like a shop vac right?

Like one of those very very powerful ones that have extreme suction.

SO, get the handle extender with a little flat surface nozzle.

Then boil some water. Slowly and carefully pour a very small ammount of boiling water over the melted wax, wait a second for the wax to melt then use the vacume to suck it all up.

of your rug is an ornate multi colored one i dont know what effects the water will have on the dye

  7. !kyradarkmoon! says:

put a towel or paper over the spot then iron over it the heat will draw the wax up.

  8. kk says:

you can try taking a piece of material and laying it over the melted wax and taking an iron to it ….wax/material/WARM iron, dont set iron on high as it may melt the wax into the carpet more, you may also want to try using resolve or other carpet cleaners, but i think the iron works the best….just be sure not to set on high

  9. Dragon says:

Place absorbent paper over wax and with a cloths iron on a low heat melt heat the paper till the wax is absorbed you will need to repeat this a few times.

Cut out the carpet and replace it with a matching remnant.

  11. Mopar says:

First scrape off as much as you can. Then take a brown paper sack. Wrinkle it up, and un wrinkle it. Place it over the wax and use a clothes iron on the bag. It will warm the wax and the bag will absorb the wax. Keep changing bags. Do this until it is all up.

Okay, this sounds so crazy but it works. Take a facecloth or towel (depending on the size of the spot) and get it totally drenched in HOT water. Put the towel/facecloth on the spot hold down. Once the towel/facecloth cools, you should be able to lift the softened wax off the carpet. If it is still too solid, you can pour boiling water directly on the spot.

some people use a paper towel and an iron set on low. check here for the details: careful not to burn the carpet though

  14. Christy says:

First, remove any bigger chunks of wax with your fingers, scrape it with something and vacuum to get rid of the bulk of it.
As for the rest of the spot, put a paper towel on it, and a medium-heat iron on top. Wait for a minute until wax melts and soaks into the towel. Replace the towel and repeat as necessary.
Finish by scrubbing with some detergent and a brush.
    Good luck!

And now, for the next few moments you can relax, because your carpet will be back to normal in no time. Simply place a paper towel over the wax. Next hold a warm iron over it until the wax softens then, pick off the wax. Repeat if necessary. I recommend using Oranges ’95 all purpose cleaner to remove any excess residue, it’s great for cleaning carpets.

Try ice it will get real cold get a knilf and scrape it lightly There a cleaning product named goof off 2 very good

  17. circle_sabine says:

First, let it cool for about two hours and scrape as much as possible with a knife.

Once you have most of it out and cannot get the rest, use an iron on medium over a paper towel to melt the wax and wick it into the towel. Repeat as necessary, but do not leave the iron on the paper towel too long, it could catch fire.

  18. gtn says:

    items needed:
    iron
    paper towels/brown paper bags

get a paper bag or paper towel and place it over the spot with the wax. Use the heated iron and iron over the location with the wax. The wax will melt and absorb into the paper towel or paper bag. When you see the wax seep through the paper, use a fresh piece.

If the wax left a stain, to the method above and then use a stain remover after the wax is removed.

  19. traarat says:

you can get wax remover from most craft stores. otherwise I heard an iron and wax paper—–set iron on low and wax will melt and you can pick it up with wax paper. But i suggest the wax remover first.

  20. KO says:

Put a piece of newspaper over it then lay a towel over that and iron, change the newspaper as it soaks up the wax

  21. ladyvibe03 says:

Try using a spray bottle with hot water-spray the area and use something to loosen the wax from the carpet. Or, dampen a towel and lay it over the area and run a hot iron over the towel. With the towel method, remember not to let the iron touch the carpet….. It will surely melt! Good Luck!

I’m sorry I dont have an answer, but I am so happy you asked this question! I had forgotten about the wax spot on my carpet till I moved the entertainment center last night…. Now I have another chore to add to my list of things to do tomarrow! lol

    Hi
There is two ways to remove wax from carpet.

1/ Use the edge of a butter knife to carefully scrape off or lift up as much solid wax as you can .Use a dry clean white terrycloth place it over the wax spot then heat it with a iron on low setting because most homes have polyester carpet, and if the iron gets too hot, it’ll melt the carpet. Keep checking the spot every ten seconds or so, moving the terrycloth so that a clean spot is on the carpet.

2/ Which is the better way. Use the edge of a butter knife to carefully scrape off or lift up as much solid wax as you can Heat up a full kettle of water and pour it slowly on the carpet at the same time with a wet vac vacuum up the water. Keep on doing this until the wax is removed.

  24. Char says:

put a wet paper towel down an run a warm iron over it to make the wax loosen up. Or try a commercial product like Goof Off

  25. datgurlronda says:

Chill the wax with an ice cube and scrape it off with a butter knife.

Cover the drops with a paper towel or brown paper bag, and gently run a warm iron over the spot. Start with a fairly low temperature and keep checking and increasing as you go along.

One or both of these should do the trick.

  26. Carol H says:

Lay paper towels down on the dripped wax and put a hot iron on top of the paper towel in between times check the paper towel underneath and see if the wax is coming off the carpet and unto the paper towel. If it gets most of it up then slightly brush it with oxiclean lightly to get the color remains up. LOL

  27. alice69days says:

We use a fine tooth comb…

  28. yorkies2@sbcglobal.net says:

try ice cubes and chip off , when it become brittle

  29. Dane W says:

what most people are saying is correct iron or heat eg hair dryier and another fabric or waxed pater or even a pater tool all work very good

    great minds think alike
