how do you get candle wax out of carpet?

I spilled some candle wax on my carpet and cannot get it out. Any ideas? ...

   Two ways, seemingly opposite, both work.

   Spread a couple of sheets of black & white newspaper over the wax, and use a warm (not hot) iron. The wax will mostly stick to the newspaper.

   Put ice cubes on the carpet, and pick the wax out with your fingers. If you catch it while it’s still cold, you may be able to vacuum some of the wax out, also.

   wax paper over the candle wax the iron over it til it comes off

   brown paper, or newspaper & a hot, but not burning iron. It melts the wax, which is soaked up onto the paper.
