Don’t believe the ice technique, don’t believe the hairdryer and paper towel. Those are all bad, bad ideas.

Check out the stain removal chart on Rug Rag. It has a ton of different scenarios…. The link below is custom tailored to your stain. better than blanket cleaners with too many unnecessary chemicals. That often can prevent the stain from being treated a second time as the soiling can become color fast.

  2. Det. John Kimbel says:

Place a paper bag over the wax, use a iron(for clothes) and run it over the paper bag using no water. Should take it right up

  3. david464014 says:

    warm iron over brown paper

  4. cattma says:

try taking an old towel, place it over the wax, then take an iron on low heat and "iron" it…should release onto towel…towel would be ruined but not carpet…it worked for me.

  5. KAT says:

A Towel and an very hot iron
Put the towel on top of the wax and iron it.

  6. Ashley says:

    Ice – freeze the wax
Butter knife – gentle pull it out of the carpet fibers.
While it may be time consuming depending on the size of the spill, it’s safer than using an iron.

This is especially good for the reds and dark colors. Using an iron tends to just embed the dye in the carpet.
