I have an electric (plug in) potpourri pot for the liquid & gel potpourri. But I was wondering if you can use it to melt wax as a tart warmer?
Also, I know there are tart warmers that use a light bulb, & ones that use an unscented candle, but do they both work the same? I guess it’s hard for me to believe that a light bulb burner can melt wax enough?
Do you think tart warmers smell as strong as candles?
Yes..you can use it as a tart warmer..my mom does all the time…
The little light bulbs get hotter then you think..hehe
Tart warmers smell stronger most of the time because all of the wax or gel is in contact with the hot surface…..on candles..only a small part of the wax is against the flame…
hope this helps
i think the tart warmers are better than candles..and yes you can use your potpourri crock for the tart wax things
I use an electric potpourri burner and put votives in it. After it melts, get the wick and the bottom piece of metal out. Votives are cheaper than tarts. You could even find an old pan at a garage sale and boil potpourri on the stove, then turn down to a simmer. Watch it though, it gets stinky if you let it burn dry. Pee You!!
Our lightbulbs are only 25 watts but melt our wax completely. It depends a lot on the melting point of the wax itself. Our wax smells alot stronger than most of the candles I have tried. Sometimes I can smell the one I have on downstairs all the way up in my bedroom!
I believe each company’s wax is designed for use in their specific warmers. That is not saying that it won’t work, I am just saying you may not have as good of results as you would using the wax designed for that specific brand’s warmer.
