My friend is getting married in a few months. Her colors are black and champage. She is using pink and orange in her bridal bouquets

Her reception site comes with color coordinated linens in her wedding package. What colors should she use? Her bridesmaid dresses are black. Her centerpieces are pillar candles and votives w/ pink rose petals.

The reception site is suggesting she use a tablecloth with a pink underlay and a white linens on top w/ pink napkins. (hope that makes sense). But, she doesn’t like the color pink they have. They do not offer any other color pink.

She was thinking about using a black underlay w/ a white tablecloth and black napkins. What do you think?

She asked my opinion, but I’m not sure what to tell her.
The reception is in the evening and is pretty formal. Not black tie, but everyone will be in cocktail/evening wear.

I would definitely go with black underlay with a champagne tablecloth and black napkins. If she doesn’t like the pink that they have I do not suggest that she use any orange with black. For some reason orange and black remind me more of high school or football colors.
I think that the champagne and black will go beautifully with everything. The pink rose petals will work as a lovely accent. Just advise your friend to keep it simple. Most of the time people do not remember the color table cloth you had…unless you pick some obnxious color–then people tend to notice. Simple is better…

I would do what she thinks cuz if she doesnt like the pink she wont be happy plus i think it sounds like it will look better! cuz if the colors dont match right it would look funny so stay simple and neutral

What about black cloth with tan overlay (since she doesn’t like their pink but mimic the champagne) and orange napkins. You said she’s using that as an accent but doesn’t have it anywhere else.

Otherwise I would negotiate the linens out of the rental price and go through an outside company that offers more options she’ll be happy with.

Well it sounds nice that she is using black and champage and then using bold colors to accent (ie. the flowers). I think she should carry that over to the reception with a champage tablecloth, black napkins, then bold colors to accent.

I had silver dresses and neutral everything. Then the flowers were red (it was right after valentines day) and they just popped. It was so pretty.

Has she looked at what they have in an orange color? Usually they have a soft orange which would match her pink and orange in her bouquet. Use orange for the napkins as well with orange underlay and white tablecloths so that the centerpieces can be seen.

I don’t the pink and orange should not be used on the table, too much, too many colors going around. Either black or champange tablecloths, keep it simple, too many colors and it will look tacky.
