So at my wedding during the dance we’re having a guy from my church do the music. He has a sweet sound system but no lighting like most dances. SO I was wondering if anyone has any great ideas about decorating just for the dance. The whole room is going to be decorated GORGEOUS!!! But for the dance they’re going to clear out some tables and make room to dance on the dance floor. And I was thinking having like pillars- About 3 feet tall with a large round candle about 1 foot tall with a 7-10 in diameter with 3 wicks in it.

I dont know how to explain this…..

Imagine the dance floor… closest to the wall, and then on each side of the dance floor on the left and right edges NOT on the edge on the wall having two pillars on each side with these candles and then maybe two more pillars at the end of the dance floor like opposit from the wall.

Oh I hope thats not too confusing!! I would love and appreciate Any ideas!!!!

Thanks!

that sounds great!! I like your idea.
You know I was at a wedding where someone did that same thing. I’m pretty sure that there are these cool lighting places where you can rent lights. What I’ve seen that I liked, was a centerpiece on pillar around the corners of the dance floor. Inside were candles (lit) and a concealed light which was awesome. So I’m not sure what your style is exactly, but you can’t go wrong with cute centerpieces and decorations and concealed lighting.
    good luck and congrats.!!!

sounds cool but i would worry about them getting knocked over

Sounds cool! You could use those flameless candles that use batteries!

absolutely no candles. if someone hit them and knocked them over, or, if they caught someones clothes on fire, well, no candles. consult with a lighting designer for the proper and safe lighting for the reception hall.

Hi. I understand what you are saying, but that is not going to work. It sounds good, but one little bump and down they go. I don’t think the venue would allow it because of fire restrictions.

Instead, why not look into hanging chinese paper lanterns…maybe from the ceiling? These operate on batteries:

There may be other ideas too. Look around for battery operated lighting options. Good luck!
