I’m trying to keep the costs down (i really don’t want to go into debt over a wedding). We’re having a cake and punch reception and setting out tables, but I highly doubt anyone will sit down, except maybe our grandparents. As my centerpieces I have a pillar candle on top of a round mirror with glass beads and flower petals all around. I was going to add Hershey’s kisses in our wedding colors to the tables and the little bubble containers. I was also considering adding some coloring sheets for the little kids.
And that would be it. Is it too little? Should I add more? I’m trying to keep costs down so something simple to add would be fine.

What are you doing?

I think everything sounds fine with the Hershey’s Kisses and bubbles if that’s what you have the budget for. Don’t over extend yourself if you can’t, period. If you have some extra money lying around, think about chocolate covered strawberries for your guests to take hime, or chocolate covered Oreo’s or carmel apples or homemade cookies. Those things you can even make yourself and they only require a plastic bag for packaging since they are decorative in themselves.

We have no budget so we were able to go all-out with decor and favors. The centerpieces will be large colorful fragrant flower arrangements that focus on blues and oranges (our colors). Our favors will be wine and cheese baskets. They include a bottle of personalized wine from the winery that is hosting our reception, an assortment of artisan cheeses, crackers and gourmet chocolates accented by a set of handblown glass grapes and accompanied by a wine-and-cheese pairing guide.

    Good luck!

    Sounds good to me.

We’re having a 2 pm ceremony and 3 pm reception so while we are still having an open bar/dancing we’re serving all desserts. I am also including a kid’s table.

For decorations, I bought an arch which I will decorate with daisies, ivy, and wild grass. I also bought feathers/wooden roses to scatter about.

For the tables, I am making button bouquets inside tin cans. They are so cute and easy to make. And cheap! Here is an example: http://www.buttons.net/

I will also be including red wine on the table for the toast along with a bottle of sparkling juice. We will go ahead and put little wine glasses at each seat.

That all sounds good. Although I’m sure that actually most people will sit down. If I’m eating cake, I would prefer to eat it sitting. Plus, if I’m wearing heels (which I usually do at weddings), it’s nice to have a place to sit. So count on people sitting down to eat cake.

Yea, I think it’s better just to stick with these few things then go by junk just so it looks like there is more stuff (aka fluff) at the wedding.

This sounds really nice, I would just stick with this and have a great time! = )

Hon, assume that everyone will sit down. One doesn’t eat cake standing up and once people start talking they will need a place to sit. This sounds like a nice idea. You might want to consider getting some disposable cameras and put them on the tables so people can take pictures of each other – leave each camera with a note saying something like, we’d love you to take pictures of each other for us so we can have this wonderful memory. (see info) The costs are fairly inexpensive for doing this and it would give the adults something to do as well as the kids. Edit: I put the wrong link, sorry, this one’s correct:

Well our centerpieces are going to double as favors. Each table will get three vases. One large one in the center with a pillar candle in it surrounded by petals. Two smaller vases each filled with a different purple candy(our wedding color is lilac) with a scooper next to it. At each guests plate they will have an organza bag and a list of what candies are at each table. This way each guests pick what ever candy they like! I think what you have planned is perfect. I don’t know where you are located, but we have this great store by us called "Christmas tree shops" we got all of our vases there for real cheap. Then we ordered the petals and candles from Save-on-crafts.com they have discounted prices on everything you can think of. Lastly we got our candy at the candy warehouse. They sell candy in bulk so it was cheaper than going to the store. I am going to link you to the Hershey’s section since I don’t know what kisses you want, but if you look at the top bar you can also sort by color.
