It can be anyone’s wedding, including your own.

For me, it was about 10 years ago. My college boyfriend was a groomsman in his HS friend’s wedding. He was at the head table, and I was at a different table. The head table was up on a riser so they were above everyone else. I went over at one point to go talk to him. They had a pillar candle on the table. I don’t remember if it was the unity candle. When I turned to walk back to the table, my long hair caught on FIRE! I have curly hair, so I was wearing hairspray to keep it undercontrol. It smelled awful and caught everyone’s attention. Luckily, it was put out immediately and there wasn’t too much damage to my hair.

It sure was embarrassing to draw that type of attention to myself in a roomful of people that I didn’t know. And I am sure he was embarrassed to bring home "the girl whose hair caught fire".

At least I will NEVER see these people again. We broke up a few years later.

It’s not overly horrible, but at the time and moment it was horrifying.

The DJ I contracted with, and consulted with, subcontracted out to someone else. About 15 minutes before the reception was starting, the DJ requested to see me so he could go over the names and how to pronounce them. I FLIPPED out because he was NOT the guy I hired. Turned out to be an excellent DJ.

But most awful was the photographer. WHile he was a professional guy, and he DID take gorgeous pics, I suspected he had a thing for all the guys. I have about a dozen solo pics of my husband, then and all the guys. I have NOT ONE solo picture of me, the bride! I spent close to $2500 on an upgraded package and the studio was mortified. They gave us about $500 worth of extras, and did try to attempt to crop a picture to just include me, but it was horrible.

I had to wear a horrible, unflattering bridesmaid dress. Nothing earthshattering, but it sucked to stand next to the gorgeous bride while I looked frumpy.

(Yes, I know it was her day. But even she regretted picking those awful dresses when she saw us all wearing them.)

i was the photographer and my car broke down so had to get my parents to drive me. Still managed to get all the photos done though just the embarrasment of the photographer getting driven around by her parents

at my first wedding(i am divorced and getting married again next year) i wasn’t in a great mood, i was tired and fell asleep in the car on the way to the dinner, and then that night i fell asleep right after we had sex. it turned out i was literally dying! I found out a week later that my type 2 diabetes had turned into type 1 and my cholesterol had gone up to 900 (not supposed to go over 150)!!! so that sucked!!!!

It’s not so bad as some of the stories, but I was a bridesmaid and the wedding was on a really hot summer day so 2 of us were outside the reception centre where it was a bit cooler. No one told us that they were doing to first dance. We came back in and the bride and groom had danced and all the other bridesbaids and their partners were on the dance floor too!. My partner cracked a hissy fit and stormed off leaving unable to join in and too embarassed to go sit down at the bridal table. Everyone was staring

My sister and I were both 5 months pregnant when she got married. She had an outdoor wedding in April, and where we live, the hot season starts in March and goes until November. The day before, against doctor’s orders, we were both moving stuff and on our feet setting up everything, and she went home and was fine. I went home and had contractions all night. I was fine the next morning, but about halfway through her ceremony, I had to actually go back into the audience and have a seat because I was having contractions (Braxton Hicks, not actually labor-inducing) while she was getting married.
