I’ve been making 100% homegrown soy candles. I haven’t had a problem until today. The tops sunk a little and made a small little hole. I’m going to try and just top them off with a different color.. or just straight soy with fragrance in it so it turns out white. Not really sure what else to do. I guess i can just try and get the same color but i don’t think that will work.

They are 8oz candles.

Any advice on what to do or why this happened?

I sat them on my window ledge with the window cracked as usual.

Wax shrinks as it cools. Is it possible that there was a breeze today that caused the outside wax to cool faster than the inside?

I would think this is the case. I would avoid the window ledge and just allow to cool at room temperature. You can use additives in your wax that help the wax not shrink as much.
