Candle Question..Soy Wax Bubbling?
Okay, I have been making candles for a little while using a parrifin blend, but recently bought a case of soy wax to try….I’ve made about 4 doz….the tops are bubbly looking after being burned…like melted plastic looks? Why do Glade “soy” candles still contain Paraffin wax?
The ingredients on Glade’s soy candles say, "Soybean oil, paraffin wax, fragrance, dyes, stabilizers". I thought soy candles were supposed to be FREE of paraffin? I’m looking out for my birds here. I only want to light safe candles.
What is wrong with my soy wax candles when they dont have the fragrance to them when they are burned?
I use a soy based, ultra fragrance, and add 1 ounce of fragrance to 2 pounds of melted wax. Do I measure the fragrance by weight? Do I measure the wax when melted or still flakes? I am just starting, so I dont know.
