Hi,
I have a book which is a hardback, with black/navy blue cloth (looks like canvas) over the cover. The book has candle wax and some dirt on it. What would be the best way to take the candle wax and dirt off that would both preserve the colour of the cover and keep the shape of the hardback? Thanks

Can a object made of glass (candle stand – size & shape of an ice cube) break on it’s own without being touched or moved from it’s place? Please let me know if you need me to be more specific with my question. A very strange incident has occured and it seems very very mysterious

For my chemistry project I need to make the perfect candle; basically, i’m being graded on several factors: It has to burn for a long time, it should have a shape that prevents it from dripping, it should smell nice, have a good appearance, and also give off a good amount of light. Any tips on making such a candle? Remember, it has to burn long while giving off a good amount of light also.

My roommate cleaned last night and threw out her glade candle that wasn’t gone, either. She also threw away many of my glass holders too, but they were not the glade kind. One had a bunch of glass orbs creating a rounded shape, and another was thick glass with an even thicker rim, sort of like a flower pot. There were a few others I think too, but none looked like her glade one. Do you think she REALLY thought I wanted these thrown out as if they were disposable (she obviously throws her glade ones out when she is done with them but I would have kept it) or do you think she just didn’t like them in the living room and tossed them to get them out of her way? Even if she thought they were disposable, don’t you think she would ask first just to be sure?

My daughters went to a fair, and made these candle holders, by dunking a bowl of hot wax( with a candle stick in the middle) into a bucket of cold water. It formed into a really cool shape! they said that you can burn the candle without ruining the holder, because the use some kind of hardening agent in the wax. Does anyone know what this would be, or how I can find out? My girls want to do this at their B-day parties.

Or should I place it in another container? Or melt it on my stove (i never have done this) and pour into something with shape. I live in central America so I don't have many craft stores to help. I just love Yankee candles and I brought it back from the States!

I had some small parffin wax beads given to me that are strongly scented and painted gold. They are roundish in shape and no larger then a small pea. Can anyone help me with a formula and directions to make this small wax bead for candle project and sachets in glass jars

I made 8 beautiful 3 inch pillar candles last year and put them in a fireplace sconce but in hot weather, they all melted and became misshaped. Is there an additive to make them retain their shape even when its 90 – 100 degrees?
I'd like to make homemade candles and have them on display. Since store bought candles don't soften enough to get lopsided during hot weather, there must be a way…

I bought this candle holder at a local second hand store, because I fell in love with the intricate designs and the gothic kind of shape. The stubs of three of the five candles it holds are still stuck where I can't get them out by hand, and the wax is all over the base and stems. How can I get the wax off, and how should I clean the copper finish afterward?
