  1. Paula The Librarian says:

    You may light a candle.

The lit candle reminds us of our Baptism, and the way that we share in the life of Christ by sharing in the prayers of all Christians.

When we leave the burning candle behind we remember that our prayers are not a momentary thing, but something that lights our soul and turns minds toward God. It continues just as the flame continues.

If you give them the money first.

    Absolutely.

It’s by no mean just a "Catholic" devotional.

(FYI, the donation is to cover the cost of the candle, and usually is much less than the actual cost.)

    Yes.

Anyone can enter a Catholic Church to worship, pray, light a votive candle, or all three.

    All are welcome.

    With love in Christ.

Yes. You can help yourself to lighting a votive candle in the Church.

Typically, there will be an area, usually to either side of the altar, where there are several candles. If you have a specific intention, you can kneel and offer your intention in silent prayer after you’ve lit the candle.

    Nothing to it.

  10. Br. Rich SFO says:

Of course. Non-Catholic Christians and even non-Christians can make use of any Sacramentals.
