   Why not? The two will become one with or without the mass. I have been to Catholic Ceremonies with a MAss but with a Unity candle

   It is your wedding so you get to choose which of the symbols and readings you use. You and your future spouse get to choose these to reflect who you are and what you want your marriage to be.

   If you do have a candle, just make sure your hair does not get too close and catch on fire. We do not want to see you on the funniest videos with your hair ablaze!
