My wedding is in August and the colors are champagne and black. I have mirrors i plan on using for each table at the reception and would like to put candles of varying sizes and in black and champagne on the mirrors. I don’t want them to be just plain and was thinking of using those little push-pins or stick-pins that have a pearl top on them so i can stick them in the candle to make it seem a little nicer.

Can anyone tell me where to buy these, or what the actual name of them is so I can search for them on ebay?
Also if you have any neat ideas for affordable centerpieces please let me know or direct me to a site. I’m a college student so i am on limited budget.

Thanks so much!
I really dislike fake flowers but i did buy some acrylic diamonds, 1/2 carat size in black and clear. They are just really cute and i planned on putting them on the mirrors, in a scatter type way…

The wedding is at 2pm, will it look bad to have candles lit indoors if there is sufficient lighting already, like in case i cant dim the lights slightly will it look tacky?

These are plastic, but they might work.

And for some reason glass is less expensive and probably wouldn’t be such a risk or melting and producing extra smoke as the candles burned down.

Also dipped head pins, but these don’t seem to have the symmetrical ball of a pearl that you sound like you’re looking for

Anyway, on a fabric store website, you might search for "head pin".

    To answer your later question:
It will not look tacky to have lit candles in the daytime. They just aren’t as dramatic as they would be at night. But it’s not a problem.

They’re just called pushpins, you can get them at any craft or hobby store. Try michaels or hobby lobby

Any craft store or fabric store should have the pins you are looking for. You could also use some champagne colored jewels and glue them on the lower part of the black candles and black jewels for the champagne colored candles. Make a simple arrangement of 4 or 5 candles on the mirror with some artificial flowers (whatever kind you are having) arranged with the candles. If you are using babies breath in your flowers you could put a few sprigs in with the centerpiece arrangement. For a little sparkle you can have a little glitter or jewels mixed in with the arrangement.

Unless you are set on having a dinner at your reception I would go simply with cake, mints, nuts.

If you have a culinary school close to you then you could see if they would give you a good price on doing the cake and if you have a dinner you could have them do that too.

    Good luck

My friend is getting married in May and she is doing white and black. We picked out her centerpieces by going to Ross, which is a thrift store kind of business. IDK if you have them in the area. Marshall’s and Big Lots are also similar. Anyway, we picked up really chunky, pretty crystal pillar candle holders 2 for $5, then she is going to sprinkle red rose petals and diamond confetti around them. The fanciest pins like you are wanting would be corsage pins or quilting pins, sold at any craft store, and probably at WalMart.

Here are some super cute vases with baby’s breath and crystals. You could easily DIY them and baby’s breath is the absolute cheapest flower you can buy. Any vases can be easily spray painted into a champagne color or you could buy black ones. This eBay set is a smoking hot deal, and if you didn’t want to suspend the crystal chains you could tie them around the necks or use champagne colored satin ribbon.

    Diamond confetti.

I believe they’re just called pearl-head straight pins. Any craft or fabric store in your area (Michael’s, Joann Fabrics, Hobby Lobby, etc) should have plenty.
